Causes of xanthelasma

There are various causes of xanthelasma, although all are influenced by the presence of lipids. These causes are:

Hereditary: This occurs in the form of hereditary disorders. Most victims of this skin disease have a family history of a disorder of lipoprotein metabolism.

Cholesterol: This is another cause of disease. When excess cholesterol is present in white blood cells, it weakens white blood cells and prevents them from resisting excess lipids in the body.

Temperature and Friction: High temperature causes an increase in the level of lipoprotein density in the body; how? The high temperature causes the lipoprotein molecules to move, giving them more mobility and leading to leakage from the capillaries in the body. Excess lipids are thus released into the body and begin to accumulate. This disease exists in different forms. Must that you know how to identify this skin disease to allow early treatment when discovered before it spreads to the point of disfiguring a person's appearance. The different types are:

Xanthelasma Palpebrum: This is also called xanthelasma. It is characterized by yellow, fine papules or plaques that form on the upper or lower eyelids. This skin disease is sometimes associated with hyperlipidemia.

They are usually associated with increased cholesterol levels and increased levels of lipoprotein density in the body.

Tendinous xanthomas: This is a yellow subcutaneous nodule found on tendons or ligaments. It is associated with increased lipoprotein density and severe hypercholesterolemia in the body. It is red-yellow and explodes in masse in a certain area. It is associated with elevated triglyceride levels and is common in diabetic patients.

Other forms of xanthomas are flat xanthomas, Xanthomas disseminate and diffuse flat xanthomas.

Testing for Xanthelasma

Xanthelasma can be discovered early by performing a fasting lipid level test. This test determines the cause of the disease and allows the dermatologist to offer solutions to limit the spread.

Conclusion

In general, xanthelasma is a skin disease caused by an excessive amount of lipid components in the bloodstream and can exist in various forms. But all these forms, if tested, can be identified and offer solutions to prevent cosmetic problems.
